A dispute between Armenian gang members may have led to an early morning shooting in a fast-food restaurant parking lot on Victory Boulevard that caused the death of one man and injured extremities of another, a police sergeant said.
Witnesses said shortly after 2 a.m. four men in separate cars screamed at each other, Sgt. Michael Kammert said. The witnesses called police, and when officers arrived they found one victim with a gunshot wound to the chest and one victim with gunshot wounds to the right arm, left leg and left foot, he said.

Vahagan Akopyan, aka Boxer, was the second leader of the Armenian Power gang, after the founder was jailed for numerous offenses, Boxer had tooken the role to lead the gang.

The Armenian Power gang increasingly grew in numbers, and they had made a name for themselves among other gangs in the area, and to local news-stations and law enforcments. In 1994, Vahagan had gotten into a feud with rival gangs after he was insulted, he pulled out a firearm and started to shoot his weapon injuring four rival gang members and putting one in a more severe condition, he later fled the country but was captured and faced charges for murder, and was sent to jail life in prison.

Several Armenian Power gang members were believed to have started a riot at the Los Angeles County jail, which resulted in more than 250,000 dollars in damage and also which caused several other inmates to be injured at the riot.

Spokesman for the Sheriff had said, half a dozen members of the Armenian Power gang were arrested, he also said they believe they are teaming up with the Mexican mafia, who are known for controlling gang activity on the streets of Los Angeles.
